You may know that static electricity buildup is a common side effect of walking on the floor, but did you know that even laminated floors can cause static electricity buildup? Although it is not common, it is still very likely due to the materials used to make the floor. In addition to using anti-static wood floors or anti-static reinforced floors, here are two methods to prevent them.

1. Increase the humidity in your home

The dry air in your home is the real cause of static electricity on the floor, so handling dry air should be your first concern. You can easily increase the humidity in your home with a vaporizer (or turn off the stove when you don't need it).

2. Keep the floor clean

While dust on the floor does not cause static electricity to build up, it can make the problem worse. Clean and mop regularly to reduce static electricity and keep the floor clean. There are special products to buy, but ordinary laminate floor cleaners are also available.
